Introduction

Experiences in life are often thought of as unrelated events when in reality they are learning opportunities. Growth happens when we take time to reflect and make connections. Growing and learning through reflection involves gathering, processing, evaluating, and applying what we learned in one situation to other contexts. Through this reflective process, we can learn and transfer that learning to future experiences. The practice of reflection also applies to teaching. As teachers, we learn to reflect on our lesson strategies and behaviors, as we can adjust our teaching practices to be proactive and meet the needs of learners.

Theory Behind Practice

All eMINTS materials are grounded in research-based best practices in K-12 education.
